L’Unione europea finanzia il corso di Laurea Magistrale in Diritto dell’Innovazione: dall’a.a. 2022-23 è attivo il Curriculum per il conseguimento del titolo congiunto in Law, Data and Artificial Intelligence.

Il Curriculum Erasmus Mundus in Law, Data and Artificial Intelligence (EMILDAI) è un programma internazionale interdisciplinare offerto dal Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza dell’Università di Pisa, insieme a Dublin City University, Avignon Université, Universidad de León, Erasmus University Rotterdam e Fundação Getulio Vargas.

In linea con le aziende e le organizzazioni di tutti i settori che si sforzano di stare al passo con l’accelerazione digitale e la gestione dei dati associati al progresso tecnologico, il Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza ha attivato un piano di studio europeo, finanziato dalla Commissione Ue, strutturato per formare laureati in grado di soddisfare le esigenze del mondo del lavoro.

Il Curriculum in Law, Data and Artificial Intelligence (EMILDAI) è un percorso di laurea magistrale pensato allo scopo di soddisfare la domanda proveniente sia dalle imprese che dalle istituzioni di professionalità esperte per l’elaborazione di dati in sicurezza conformemente alle regole giuridiche ed etiche, anche con riferimento all’utilizzo di sistemi di intelligenza artificiale.

Finanziato dall’Ue

Il Curriculum EMILDAI è finanziato dal programma Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters dell’Unione europea, ovvero il più prestigioso e integrato programma di studio universitario di livello magistrale finanziato dall’Ue.

Il curriculum della Laurea Magistrale per il conseguimento del titolo congiunto è offerto dall’Università di Pisa in collaborazione con cinque istituzioni leader nel settore della conoscenza: Dublin City University (Irlanda), Avignon Université (Francia), Universidad de León (Spagna), Erasmus University Rotterdam (Paesi Bassi) e Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brasile).

L’incontro del Diritto con le ICT

Il Curriculum Erasmus Mundus in Law, Data and Artificial Intelligence (EMILDAI) offre una combinazione unica di moduli di diritto e ICT in un ambiente di apprendimento altamente internazionalizzato che crea esperti in protezione dei dati, governance, sicurezza informatica, diritto ed etica dell’AI.

La Prof.ssa Benedetta Galgani, Presidente del corso di studio, ha espresso viva soddisfazione per i lusinghieri risultati finora ottenuti, peraltro di recente confermati dal nuovo finanziamento erogato dalla Commissione europea per la continuazione del programma fino al 2032.

Opportunità di borse di studio e iscrizioni

Una missione chiave di EMILDAI è quella di attrarre talenti da tutto il mondo con particolare attenzione agli aspetti di uguaglianza, diversità e inclusione.

Per partecipare alla selezione è necessario essere in possesso di un diploma di laurea e attestare la conoscenza di almeno due lingue straniere (inglese e francese o spagnolo).

Per l’edizione 2026-2028, le iscrizioni sono chiuse.

Le ammissioni all’edizione 2026-2028 si sono articolate in due fasi. Durante la prima fase di presentazione delle domande (dal 10 novembre 2025 al 25 gennaio 2026), tutti gli studenti sono stati presi in considerazione per l’assegnazione di una borsa di studio a copertura parziale. Ai candidati che non sono riusciti a ottenere una borsa di studio è stato offerto un posto senza borsa. Tra il 25 marzo e il 29 maggio 2026 è stata aperta una seconda fase di presentazione delle candidature per assegnare posti a studenti senza borsa di studio.

Apprendimento multilingue

Oltre ai moduli fondamentali di informatica e diritto, gli studenti EMILDAI beneficeranno di un apprendimento multilingue relativo all’inglese e a un’altra lingua europea (francese o spagnolo). Questa combinazione di competenze è molto ricercata dalle organizzazioni internazionali, dalle aziende tecnologiche, dal settore legale e dalle istituzioni europee e mondiali.

Il sostegno dalla ricerca e dall’industria

Il Curriculum EMILDAI è anche supportato da tre Research Associate Partner, che rappresentano centri di ricerca leader nel campo del diritto, dei dati e dell’IA: il Centro ADAPT di Dublino, l’ISTI di Pisa e il Centre de Recherche en Droit A. Favre dell’Université Savoie Mont Blanc (Chambéry). Il programma coinvolge anche più di 70 organizzazioni pubbliche e private nella prestazione di tirocini, seminari, settimane tematiche e summer schools.

A chi si rivolge il Curriculum EMILDAI?

Il candidato ideale è in possesso di un diploma di laurea triennale in informatica o materie giuridiche. È richiesto un ottimo livello di inglese e la conoscenza di una seconda lingua (francese o spagnolo). I migliori studenti saranno selezionati in base al voto di laurea, all’esperienza professionale e alla motivazione. Saranno inoltre garantiti l’equilibrio rispetto alla provenienza geografica e al genere.

The new Erasmus Mundus Curriculum in Law, Data and Artificial Intelligence (EMILDAI) is an international interdisciplinary programme offered by the Department of Law of the University of Pisa, together with Dublin City University, Avignon Université, Universidad de León, Erasmus University Rotterdam and Fundação Getulio Vargas.

Similarly to companies and organizations in all sectors that strive to keep up with digital acceleration and data management associated with technological progress, the Department of Law has activated a European study plan, funded by the EU Commission, structured to create graduates able to meet the needs of the world of work.

The Curriculum in Law, Data and Artificial Intelligence (EMILDAI) is a master’s degree course designed to bridge the gap for companies and institutions that require experts to process data in security in accordance with legal and ethical rules, also with reference to the use of artificial intelligence systems.

EU-funded

The EMILDAI Curriculum is fundend by the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters of the European Union, that is the most prestigious and integrated EU-funded master’s degree programme. The EMILDAI project received a grant of over €5 million from the European Commission.

The Master’s Degree curriculum for the achievement of the joint degree is offered by the University of Pisa in collaboration with three leading European institutions in the field of knowledge: Dublin City University (Ireland), Avignon Université (France), Universidad de León (Spain), Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands) e Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brasil)

The meeting of Law with ICT

The Erasmus Mundus Curriculum in Law, Data and Artificial Intelligence (EMILDAI) offers a unique mix of law and ICT modules in a highly internationalised learning environment that creates experts in data protection, governance, cybersecurity, AI law and ethics.

Professor Benedetta Galgani, Chair of the programme, expressed her great satisfaction at the impressive results achieved so far. These results have recently been further endorsed by the European Commission’s decision to award new funding to continue the programme until 2032.

Scholarship and enrollment opportunities

A key mission of EMILDAI is to attract talent from all over the world with particular attention to the aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion.

In order to partecipate in the selection process, students are requested to possess a relevant degree and an appropriate language proficiency level in English end either French or Spanish.

Registration for the 2026–2028 edition has now closed.

Admission to the 2026–2028 edition was divided into two stages. During the first stage of applications (10 November 2025 to 25 January 2026), all applicants were considered for a partial scholarship. Those who were unsuccessful were offered a place without a scholarship. A second application round for students without a scholarship took place between 25 March and 29 May 2026.

Multilingual learning

In addition to the core modules in computer science and law, EMILDAI students will benefit from multilingual learning related to English and another European language (French or Spanish). This combination of expertise is highly sought after by international organisations, technology companies, the legal sector and European and global institutions.

Support from research and industry

The EMILDAI Curriculum is also supported by three Research Associate Partners, representing leading research centres in the field of law, data and AI: the ADAPT Centre in Dublin, the ISTI in Pisa and the Centre de Recherche en Droit A. Favre of the Université Savoie Mont Blanc (Chambéry) . The program also involves more than 70 public and private organizations in the provision of internships, seminars, thematic weeks and summer schools.

Who is the EMILDAI Curriculum for?

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in computer science or legal subjects. An excellent level of English and knowledge of a second language (French or Spanish) is required. The best students will be selected based on graduation grade, professional experience and motivation. Balance with respect to geographical origin and gender will also be ensured.
